The van built into a home. The fleet that runs all day. The cargo van loaded on a summer grade. That is the duty cycle a track car endures — met daily, and without a single instrument watching.
A nine-speed transmission does not fail all at once. It gets hot, stays hot, and the fluid that lubricates and cools it breaks down — quietly, over months, long before anything appears on the dash. By the time a warning light comes on, the damage is already done and a warning is useless.
Your vehicle has no transmission temperature gauge. The value exists inside the transmission’s own computer, but it is not published in the standard list that generic scan tools read. Owners spend evenings on forums trying to reach it and mostly fail.

The temperature, live
Transmission fluid temperature read straight from the transmission control module, about once a second — the same value a dealer’s diagnostic tool reads. One large number, a one-word trend, and the session peak with the time it happened. Nothing to configure, nothing to study.
Early warning, not an obituary
LIMEN alerts on sustained heat, not momentary spikes: a full-screen takeover, an alarm-stream tone that cuts through navigation and music, and a notification you can silence with one tap from the lock screen. Silencing quiets the alarm without blinding the monitor — if the condition worsens, it speaks again. The thresholds are early-warning levels drawn from published fluid-temperature guidance — not damage points. They exist to give you time.
It watches with the screen off
LIMEN runs as a foreground service: it keeps monitoring in your pocket, restarts a stalled connection on its own, reconnects when the Bluetooth link drops, and tells you when it cannot see your vehicle. A monitor that quietly stops is worse than no monitor at all. When you shut the ignition off, it stands by, then disconnects cleanly.
Clutch Checkup
Heat has to come from somewhere — and inside a transmission, it is made at the clutches. One that engages cleanly generates almost none; one that has to slip longer runs hotter and wears faster, and each feeds the other. Your transmission’s computer continuously fine-tunes its four internal clutches and stores those adjustments in its own memory — a record of how hard each one is working. About once a month, automatically and only when conditions are safe, LIMEN reads it.
Four quiet indicators on the main screen carry the verdict; tapping opens the detail, in plain language, with the drift since your last checkup. Because these values are relative to each transmission’s own learned baseline, that drift is the clearest signal there is — and it is one no scan tool on the market interprets for you.
Every channel, every adaptation value, and every alert behavior has been exercised on a 2026 Ram ProMaster. The release build that ships is the same one running on the vehicle it was built for.
